How does Italy deal with USPS Priority Mail packages?

I am staying in a tiny borgo that has no poste italiane of its own. The online USPS tracking info says they have attempted delivery of the package several times, but I have been here at the house every day all day. Are they delivering it somewhere else that I should know about? How do I find out where it might be? I have never seen our mail person at all. Where do you suggest I inquire about this?

They are suppose to deliver mail every day and also you need to go to the nearest town that has a post office and you need to got to them and try tosee where they deliver to or have a Italian friend help you with it.
USPS does deliver to Italy but if it is larger then a envelope you will have to go get get from the post office.
