Is it a smart idea to travel to Italy/Spain in March?

Was planning on going to Egypt in March but, I’ve been told that it’s unsafe these days. We’re thinking of going to Italy but, my travel agent says it might be cold during March. When is the best time to go there?
Thanks in advance!!

  1. Yes, Rome just gets crowded during Holy Week. Other than that, there aren’t too many tourists in March. It’s usually between the 50′s and the upper to mid 60′s (F). It’s not Chicago cold, it’s more like Texas cold. I would go in March :) Good luck! L’Italia e molta bella!

  2. Italy can be cold in March but where I live in Spain (Málaga) the weather can be quite warm and sunny. The Canary Isles would be warmer, though being spring you could expect inclement weather anywhere.
I was in Rome last May. It was warm and sunny but cooler than I’m used to here in Spain.
